Chamber and Danske Bank Host Businesses Breakfast
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Ballymena Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Danske Bank jointly hosted a Business Breakfast at Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort. The event which focused on economic factors impacting on businesses attracted a large audience with over 100 members of the local business community attending.

Robin Cherry MBE, President, Ballymena Chamber of Commerce, Conor Lambe, Chief Economist, Danske Bank, Aaron Ennis, Northern Business Manager, Danske Bank and Tom Wiggins, Business Development Manager, Ballymena Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chamber President Alderman Robin Cherry MBE welcomed the attendees and expressed Chamber’s commitment to providing events which supported local businesses. Robin said that the Chamber of Commerce was delighted to have collaborated with Danske to host such a this event which would provide valuable information to those attending. Robin also reiterated Chamber’s commitment to supporting and sustaining the vibrant business community within the Borough.
Key speakers for the day were Conor Lambe, Chief Economist and John -Paul Coleman, Head of Markets, Danske Bank. Their presentations focused on the economic issues presently impacting on businesses both locally and globally. Aaron Ennis, Northern Business Manager, Danske Bank facilitated a question and answer session at the conclusion of the presentations. In closing Aaron also reminded those attending that Danske was committed to help grow and sustain local businesses and that is why they work so closely with organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce. It was clear from those attending that the inputs certainly generated a lot of debate and that attendees left the event with a much better understanding of the current economic situation and the challenges ahead.

Chamber Business Development Manager, Tom Wiggins was delighted with the number of businesses who attended and that Danske Bank had offered to work with Chamber in providing such a current and timely event. Tom reiterated that Ballymena Chamber of Commerce are committed to assisting local businesses through a wide range of events and initiatives. The next Chamber of Commerce event is the informal ‘Christmas Social Evening’ on Tuesday 10th December in the Adair Arms Hotel. Tom said that everyone is welcome to call in for a mince pie, tea and coffee or a glass of wine. The evening will also see the winners of the Christmas Window Dressing Competition presented with their trophies.
