{"id":1933,"date":"2012-11-29T12:09:46","date_gmt":"2012-11-29T12:09:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=1933"},"modified":"2012-11-29T12:12:07","modified_gmt":"2012-11-29T12:12:07","slug":"success-for-the-front-page-bar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=1933","title":{"rendered":"Success for The Front Page Bar"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>FRONT PAGE BAR CROWNED NORTHERN IRELAND\u2019S BEST NEIGHBOURHOOD PUB<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Front Page Bar in Ballymena is celebrating after being crowned Northern Ireland\u2019s Best Neighbourhood Pub at this year\u2019s Pubs of Ulster\u2019s Pub of the Year Awards, which were held in the majestic surroundings of Belfast City Hall last week.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1935\" title=\"Front Page Success\" src=\"http:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/FP_STORY1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"679\" height=\"494\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/FP_STORY1.jpg 679w, https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/FP_STORY1-300x218.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Mark Stewart, Chairman of Pubs of Ulster (NI), presents Team Front Page from Ballymena with the award for Northern Ireland Neighbourhood \/ Community Pub of the Year.<\/h6>\n<p>Judges\u2019 praised The Front Page for being the life blood of the local community, raising money for charity and supporting local teams and initiatives.\u00a0 The judges\u2019 were also impressed by the pubs perpetual commitment and passion to improving and enhancing the locality and their ability to inspire and motivate others.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the awards, Mark Stewart, chairman of Pubs of Ulster said: <em>\u201cThis year\u2019s Pub of the Year Awards has once again highlighted the quality that exists in the local pub trade right across Northern Ireland.\u00a0 We have world class pubs right on our doorstep and the awards allow us to recognise this by rewarding the excellence that exists in the industry.\u00a0 I would like to thank all the pubs who entered this year\u2019s awards and congratulate all the winners, especially The Front Page, for showcasing the very best that the local pub trade has to offer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Pub of the Year Awards is the culmination of an extensive search for the best pubs in a range of categories across Northern Ireland.\u00a0 Finalists were selected following an extensive judging process and were judged, depending on their category, by written submissions, interviews or by independent mystery shoppers.\u00a0 An independent judging panel comprising of Martin Breen, editor of the Sunday Life; Gary McDonald, business editor of the Irish News; Adrienne McGill, business editor of the News Letter; Paul Connolly, managing editor of the Belfast Telegraph and Louise Murphy, editor of Hospitality Review then decided on the overall winners.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Reynolds, proprietor of The Front Page said, <em>&#8220;The Northern Ireland Neighbourhood \/ Community Pub of the Year Award recognises The Front Page in Ballymena as a thriving, town centre, cross community Pub&#8230;.providing employment and making a contribution to the success and diversity of the retail, service, hospitality and tourism offer of the local economy since 1990.
