{"id":3993,"date":"2014-06-26T15:18:36","date_gmt":"2014-06-26T15:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=3993"},"modified":"2014-06-26T15:20:10","modified_gmt":"2014-06-26T15:20:10","slug":"invest-ni-helps-open-more-doors-for-local-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=3993","title":{"rendered":"Invest NI helps open more doors for local company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ballymena company Garage\u00a0Door\u00a0Systems Ltd\u00a0is creating 17 new jobs as part of\u00a0a \u00a32 million investment supported by Invest Northern Ireland.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3994\" title=\"GDOORS_STORY1\" src=\"http:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/GDOORS_STORY1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"679\" height=\"462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/GDOORS_STORY1.jpg 679w, https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/GDOORS_STORY1-300x204.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0family-run business, which manufactures and installs a range of made-to-measure garage doors for the domestic and professional markets,\u00a0is now in its 20th\u00a0year of trading\u00a0and employs 33 staff.<\/p>\n<p>As well as recruiting more staff,\u00a0the investment will see the company\u00a0invest in innovative manufacturing equipment and\u00a0processes,\u00a0develop a marketing strategy and upgrade\u00a0its production management system.<\/p>\n<p>Invest NI has offered\u00a0\u00a3220,000\u00a0to\u00a0support\u00a0the\u00a0creation of the\u00a0new positions.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the investment during a visit to the company, Invest NI\u2019s Chief Executive,Alastair Hamilton,\u00a0said: <em>\u201cWith Invest NI\u2019s\u00a0assistance,\u00a0Garage Door\u00a0Systems\u00a0Ltd\u00a0will create 17 new jobs over the next three years including key financial and marketing positions that\u00a0will support its overall aim of significantly increasing\u00a0export sales.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe company\u2019s success has been driven by\u00a0the quality of its products and service\u00a0as well as a focus on innovation. This investment\u00a0will\u00a0help\u00a0the company\u00a0achieve its objective of\u00a0growing sales in\u00a0the Great Britain market.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Garage Door\u00a0Systems\u00a0Ltd\u00a0recently completed a research and development project to\u00a0develop\u00a0a new manufacturing process that\u00a0is\u00a0now\u00a0being\u00a0used to make a range of non standard pedestrian doors in small production runs\u00a0with industry leading turnaround times<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0project\u00a0was\u00a0supported by Invest NI,\u00a0which offered over \u00a333,000 of support part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Garage Door\u00a0Systems\u2019\u00a0Managing Director, Peter Doherty, said: <em>\u201cWe are currently the market leader in\u00a0two of our three target markets\u00a0and have\u00a0recently\u00a0identified\u00a0and exploited\u00a0opportunities to raise our profile and increase sales into\u00a0the Great Britain market.\u00a0To further build on this\u00a0we are now recruiting additional staff and aim to push our GB sales up to over 70% of our turnover.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019ve had a range of support from Invest NI over many years,\u00a0which\u00a0has helped us to expand our product range, employ additional staff\u00a0and develop a robust strategy for growth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ballymena company Garage\u00a0Door\u00a0Systems Ltd\u00a0is creating 17 new jobs as part of\u00a0a \u00a32 million investment supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
