{"id":4960,"date":"2015-06-01T13:04:15","date_gmt":"2015-06-01T13:04:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=4960"},"modified":"2015-06-01T13:07:18","modified_gmt":"2015-06-01T13:07:18","slug":"wrightbus-in-emerging-indian-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=4960","title":{"rendered":"Wrightbus in Emerging Indian Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>WRIGHTBUS INTERNATIONAL CONTINUE SCALING THEIR GLOBAL BUSINESS, MAKING A FOOTPRINT IN THE EMERGING INDIAN MARKET<\/h3>\n<p>Today (28th May 2015) Wrightbus International senior team were in India at an event held in conjunction with Daimler (India Commercial Vehicles) to celebrate the opening of their bus body plant in Chennai, India and officially premiere a range of buses designed and manufactured to meet the particular specifications of the growing Indian market.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4961\" title=\"NEWWB15_STORY1\" src=\"http:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/NEWWB15_STORY1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"679\" height=\"395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/NEWWB15_STORY1.jpg 679w, https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/NEWWB15_STORY1-300x174.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 0.75em;\">Mark Nodder, CEO Wrights Group,\u00a0Hartmut\u00a0Schick, Head of Daimler Buses, and Markus\u00a0Villinger, Managing Director Daimler Buses India (from left to right),\u00a0inaugurate the new bus plant.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>The new Wrightbus International assembly plant has a capacity to produce 1,500 vehicles per annum for the Indian market and currently employs 140 local workers, a number that is set to increase rapidly as bus production begins in Chennai.<\/p>\n<p>The R&amp;D of the new product range was carried out at Wrights Group headquarters in Northern Ireland with the valued support of Invest Northern Ireland, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Nodder,\u00a0Wrights Group Chairman and CEO,\u00a0comments:\u00a0<em>\u201cIndia is a huge emerging market with massive potential. \u00a0Having a presence on the ground in the territory and a bus range design specifically for the Indian market, will help sustain employment for the current workforce of 130 Wrightbus International employees based at Group headquarters in Northern Ireland. The opening of this assembly plant is a proactive step towards international expansion that will impact positively on Wrights Group performance and the local economy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Welcoming the development, Enterprise Trade and Investment Minister Johnathan Bell MLA, said: <em>\u201cThis new assembly plant in India is a milestone achievement for Wrightbus and follows extensive market research over the past six years. As well as support with developing its new product for the Indian market, the Ballymena-based manufacturer benefited from advice and practical support from Invest NI\u2019s team of experts to link up with Daimler.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWrightbus is among Northern Ireland\u2019s leading export businesses and this market offers exciting opportunities for those ambitious companies prepared to make the necessary long-term commitmentand deploy the necessary financial and staff resources to do worthwhile international business.
