{"id":7798,"date":"2019-01-15T10:54:15","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T10:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=7798"},"modified":"2019-01-30T10:57:39","modified_gmt":"2019-01-30T10:57:39","slug":"impressive-festive-period-for-fairhill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/?p=7798","title":{"rendered":"Impressive Festive Period for Fairhill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Positive Outlook for the Year Ahead after Good 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BALLYMENA\u2019s premier retail destination, Fairhill Shopping Centre, home to Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, New Look and Next among others, got everything they wished for this Christmas with an impressive 10% increase in footfall figures compared to 2017 over the Christmas and New Year period.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7800\" src=\"http:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FAIRHILL2019_STORY.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"679\" height=\"518\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FAIRHILL2019_STORY.jpg 679w, https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FAIRHILL2019_STORY-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following the news that Next has re-committed to the Centre until 2024 and the opening of a further four units including River Island Kids and The Kiosk in 2018, December\u2019s footfall figures confirms that the shopping Centre is a location of choice for many.<\/p>\n<p>The County Antrim shopping Centre saw a 9% increase in footfall over the week 22 to 29 December compared to that of 2017 and an increase of 7% across the month of December compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Natalie Jackson, Fairhill Centre Manager commented:\u00a0<em>\u201cWe were delighted with the footfall figures over the Christmas and New Year. The Centre was extremely busy throughout the period with tenants dealing with the Christmas and sales\u2019 rush. The last quarter of 2018 saw a reasonable increase of 2% on footfall, in addition to the festive footfall figures. We are looking forward to 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEven though we all know it can be challenging at times on the High Street, these statistics show that the Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena is a very favourable destination for people far and wide given the great mix of high street, independent retailers and eateries within the Centre.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe addition of a number of pop-up stands throughout the mall including LMD, Calendar Club, Montgomery \u2019s Gift Store and Freshways \u2019 fruit and veg over the Christmas period added to the offering for shoppers helping to bolster the footfall.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs we approach the 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of Fairhill it\u2019s fantastic to see the Centre prospering, with three new tenants due to open in thefirst quarter of the year, things are looking very positive for the Fairhill this year.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Positive Outlook for the Year Ahead after Good 2018 BALLYMENA\u2019s premier retail destination, Fairhill Shopping Centre, home to Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, New Look and Next among others, got everything they wished for this Christmas with an impressive 10% increase in footfall figures compared to 2017 over the Christmas and New Year period.
