The awards are organised annually by Ballymena Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7842\" src=\"http:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Sponsor19Story.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"679\" height=\"461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Sponsor19Story.jpg 679w, https:\/\/ballymenachamber.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Sponsor19Story-300x204.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Announcing the sponsorship deal, Robin Cherry MBE, Chamber President said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am delighted to announce that Mid and East Antrim Borough Council will be the principal sponsor for the 2019 Business Awards. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen growth in interest, attendance and applications for the awards every year since we started, with last year almost 450 people attending the Gala evening. It\u2019s always great to see the mix of businesses at the awards, representing sectors from retail to manufacturing to services. And it allows Ballymena to showcase the best businesses and practices to outside bodies perhaps looking to locate new businesses.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m glad to say that Chamber has an excellent working relationship with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and I look forward to this business focused approach continuing in the future\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Councillor Lindsay Millar said: <em>\u201cThese annual awards are an excellent showcase for some of the very best examples of successful businesses operating in Ballymena who contribute positively to the growth of the economy in Mid and East Antrim. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cI am very pleased that Council is continuing to work with Ballymena Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry as principal sponsor to recognise the achievement and success of local enterprise and in so doing positioning Ballymena and Mid and East Antrim as a place to do business, an area to further grow and prosper with great opportunities and sound business ethos and where there is already a strong retail base that includes third and fourth generation businesses.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Anne Donaghy, said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs a Council, we are fully committed to supporting business growth and development, and promoting an environment that encourages and facilitates investment in our borough.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTogether with the backing of our elected representatives \u2013 who have demonstrated unwavering support to our focus on economic growth \u2013 we have introduced and delivered a number of initiatives which have the potential to transform the economy in this borough.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBallymena has had its challenges but we are fully committed to seizing every opportunity presented, as demonstrated by the planned \u00a3150m regeneration of St Patrick\u2019s Barracks, the \u00a380m investment in our Borough through Belfast Region City Deal, and our bid for a Heathrow Logistics Hub, which could result in \u00a35bn investment and 5,000 jobs for Northern Ireland.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tom Wiggins, Chamber Business Development Manager added:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPlanning is already well under way for this year\u2019s Awards. Once again Chamber will be employing Insight Mystery Shopping to carry out the judging and the Tullyglass House Hotel, an excellent facility we are fortunate to have in Ballymena, will again be hosting the Gala Evening. The date for this year\u2019s award ceremony is Thursday 24th. October which may seem a long way off but it will soon come around so put this date in your diary now.
