Michelin – 30,000,000 tyres and counting!
Michelin Tyre PLC has just produced their 30 millionth tyre at their site on the Raceview Road.
Plant Manager Wilton Crawford said that this was a real milestone and was full of praise for the workforce. He said “This marks a key stage in the Company’s heritage in Ballymena. The skills, hard working attitude and consistent commitment of our employees have been the backbone of the factory as we have adapted out manufacturing processes and flexibility to meet fluctuation in demand from different zones and Markets”.
The Ballymena plant employs almost 1000 people and has a capacity to produce 1.4 million annually of which 95% are exported.
